What I did yesterday....

My Mum asked me if she could have a Ruby to give as a christening present in a frame to a friends baby. Instead I made her an embroidery of the baby with her name and christening date at the side. I actually really like it and think that I would like to do more of them. Wedding ones would be lovely!

Was just working away in my shed and spotted some old samples in a box. Thought I'd take some photos and put them on here.....

Back in Leicester land.....

So placement at Hallmark is over (it was brilliant!) I've graduated (also wonderful) and I'm back lving at home. I've moved all of my work stuff into my studio (shed) and it's looking lovely....I'm now going to make a proper start looking for freelance work and doing some little projects to keep me going, will blog them when I've got something to show....

Some bits and pieces....

These are just some new bits of embroidery that I've been doing, similar to my old floral stuff. I'm really liking just doing the hand embroidery here - so nice and relaxing after all of the stress of the show!

Photos of the show (the just not good enough ones) shall get more soon!!

The show...

The textile crafts girls on opening night

Me and SJ (my studio next door neighbour)

Will take some photos of my show now and upload later - the ones I have are just not good enough!

The end of uni....

So uni is now coming to an end, the degree show is coming down tomorrow and I am off back down to Leicester land. The results are in and I shall be graduating with a 2:1 - rather pleased! I haven't put any final show stuff up yet as I didn't want to be ruining the surprise for anyone that was coming to the show! shall pop some up now though.

I am really happy with my final book, I actually quite love it! I got 5 copies printed and everyone seems to have gotten quite excited about them. I sent one down to my Mum's nursery and the children liked it and asked to read it again! The tutors have all even congratulated me on it which was a relief.

Putting up the show went really well (except for some shelf related issues) I did a big thread drawing - an adaptation of my front cover - on the wall over the books which was really exciting and fun to do....
